Anna R. Yum

Anna R. Yum is a nationally recognized criminal defense attorney and the founding attorney of the Law Offices of Anna R. Yum in San Diego. A former prosecutor, she has tried numerous jury and bench trials and now defends clients in matters ranging from serious felonies (including sexual assault, violent-crime and gang enhancements) to DUI and other misdemeanors. She is licensed in California (state and federal courts in the Southern and Central Districts) and Illinois.

As a former Riverside County Deputy District Attorney, Ms. Yum draws on inside-the-courthouse perspective to anticipate prosecutorial strategy and build strong defenses. Her work has been featured on major media outlets, including Fox News, HLN/CNN, Court TV, and Law & Crime, and she is frequently invited to speak and provide MCLE training, including on domestic-violence topics.

Anna Yum is a licensed practicing attorney in California and Illinois. She also regularly serves as a legal analyst on various news and media outlets including KUSI-San Diego, Fox 5 San Diego, San Diego’s U-T TV, NBC 7 San Diego, and KOGO 600 AM.

Anna graduated from Northwestern University, ranked #12 in the country, with a double major in International Studies and Communication Studies. Anna received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. While at law school, Anna served as a member of the nationally recognized Mock Trial team. Anna also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Robert M. Takasugi, Senior Judge in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Upon graduation, Anna received several awards recognizing her excellence in oral advocacy. Specifically, Anna was inducted into the Order of Barristers, which awards the best oral advocates in her graduating class. She also was only 1 of 4 students in her graduating class to receive the American Board of Trial Advocates Award.

Anna’s private law practice is predominantly focused on criminal defense in both state and federal courts. Anna also practices certain areas of civil litigation including personal injury and employment discrimination. Prior to opening her law firm, Anna served as a criminal prosecutor in Riverside County. During her tenure as a deputy district attorney, Anna prosecuted a wide variety of complex criminal matters including sexual assault, domestic violence, criminal street gangs, child molestation, drug sales, robbery, felony offenses with gun enhancements, attempted murder, and first degree murder. As both a former prosecutor and criminal defense attorney, Anna has successfully tried a multitude of jury and bench trials to verdict. She has also received an Avvo Rating of 10.0 as a Top Attorney practicing Criminal Defense based upon client reviews and peer endorsements.

Anna is a member of many professional legal organizations such as the San Diego County Bar Association, Enright Inn of Court, Criminal Defense Bar Association of San Diego, Korean-American Bar Association of San Diego, and the Illinois State Bar Association.

Associate

Logan Noblin

Logan Noblin is an Associate Attorney with the Law Offices of Anna R. Yum. He has represented thousands of people charged with crimes across Southern California, first as a deputy public defender in Los Angeles County and later as a federal public defender in San Diego.

He has focused on criminal defense since law school and was selected as one of only 16 students nationwide for the Gideon’s Promise training program. While serving in a state public defender’s office with more than 700 lawyers, he was named Misdemeanor Attorney of the Year after securing seven consecutive jury trial wins in 2019.

After graduating, Mr. Noblin worked as a reporter for the Daily Journal, California’s largest legal news outlet. He was promoted to editor within nine months. He now applies that writing and storytelling skill to craft persuasive motions and to present compelling narratives to prosecutors, judges, and juries.

Mr. Noblin was born in Long Beach, California, and has lived in Southern California his entire life. He is an avid soccer fan, a published fiction author, and a former fighter with the Irish Athletic Boxing Association.

Deanna Ivers

Deanna Ivers is an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Anna R. Yum. Ms. Ivers has devoted her career to defending individuals facing criminal charges throughout California. Before joining the firm, she served as a deputy public defender, where she represented thousands of clients and maintained a 100 percent trial win rate during her first year as a misdemeanor attorney. She later expanded her practice into felony litigation, trying serious and strike related cases and developing a reputation for thorough preparation, strategic advocacy, and exceptional client communication.

Prior to entering public defense, Ms. Ivers served as the staff attorney for the Kings County Superior Court judges. In that role, she conducted legal research, drafted bench memoranda, and advised the judiciary on complex criminal law issues. This experience provided valuable insight into judicial decision making and strengthened her ability to craft arguments that resonate with the court.

Throughout her career, Ms. Ivers has secured favorable outcomes in cases involving DUI, domestic violence, drug offenses, theft crimes, firearm charges, and strike eligible felonies. She is also highly experienced in California diversion programs, including misdemeanor diversion, military diversion, mental health diversion, and veterans court. In addition to her courtroom experience, she has completed extensive advanced training through statewide and national criminal defense seminars, including programs in homicide defense, felony litigation, trial advocacy, DUI defense, and capital case fundamentals. Her strengths include persuasive legal writing, detailed case investigation, and strategic negotiation.

While attending Lincoln Law School, Ms. Ivers worked as the assistant law librarian and was an active member of the Women’s Justice Society. 

A Sacramento native, she now practices in San Diego and enjoys yoga, Pilates, reading, and exploring the county’s beaches with her family.
